Imposter Syndrome Myths – How They Keep You Stuck

I'm curious: which Imposter Syndrome myths might you have been falling for?

The super-common Imposter Syndrome myths are the secret reason why so many people stay stuck with the secret 3am fear of being 'found out' as a fraud or others 'discovering' that they're not good enough... even when they're outwardly confident and successful.

Some of these myths come from the fact that Imposter Syndrome has been so little understood - few large-scale studies have been carried out. Fortunately, the landmark 2019 Imposter Syndrome Research Study has given us the data we need to be able to understand how and why Imposter Syndrome happens, and what we can do about it.

And when I work with students or clients on ditching Imposter Syndrome, usually the very first place we start is with busting the Imposter Syndrome myths - both the universal ones and the personal ones.

Why?

Because the unconscious mind won't let you make a change it believes is impossible!
Imposter Syndrome Myths - Quote - Clare Josa

Ditching the Imposter Syndrome myths is an incredibly important place to start. And simply the act of realising these myths aren't true can be enough to create a breakthrough in someone's journey towards setting themselves free from that secret 3am self-talk!

P.S. Want to know which myths have been keeping you stuck? Both the universal and the personal ones? Already got Ditching Imposter Syndrome? The exercise on page 169 (Kindle search: 'Exercise: How To Spot Your Limiting Beliefs') holds the answer.

Simply swap out the part "I haven't done that yet" for "I haven't ditched Imposter Syndrome yet" in the self-mentoring question in that exercise and your favourite subconscious myths will be revealed!

And the next section of the book gives you tools to let them go, so you're free from them holding you back.
